Doosan Bobcat launches new telescopic loaders
A new range of telescopic loaders have been launched by Doosan Bobcat for the waste and recycling sector.

The loaders are based on a prototype shown at the Bauma exhibition. Four of the company’s current productivity and high-flow telescopic loaders – the TL35.70, TL34.65HF, TL38.70HF and TL43.80HF – are now being offered as Waste Expert machines.
These telescopic loaders offer lifting capacities from 3.4 to 4.3 tonnes and heights from 6.5 to 8 m.
Commenting on the new Waste Expert range, Olivier Traccucci – Bobcat Telehandler senior product manager – said: “Waste and recycling businesses need versatile machines that can handle a large variety of tasks, manoeuvre well in tight spaces and provide maximum efficiency in full safety throughout the working day.

Fareham deploys used RCV in vehicle fleet
Fareham borough council has purchased a used vehicle in order to meet increasing demand and save costs.

The 2013 26T 6×2 Dennis Elite, Dennis Olympus with Terberg OmniDel bin-lift was provided by Gloucestershire-based Refuse Vehicle Solutions Ltd (RVS). It is in good condition and will allow the local authority deal with increased demand from new houses in Fareham.
The council have said the vehicle cost a fraction of the cost of a new model and will boost the fleet ahead of its vehicle replacement programme.
Spencer Law, Managing Director of RVS, said: “We are really pleased that Fareham are happy with their vehicle. We put all of our Quality Used vehicles through a stringent 72-point check to identify any areas that require replacement or repair.
“Once all defects have been corrected, the vehicles are repainted, serviced and MOT’d before being sent on to the customer with a warranty. When looked after properly these vehicles can offer many years of optimum service.”
JCB Hydradig for Irish Polymer processing plant
Irish uPVC building product manufacturer, RE-KKUR, has acquired a JCB Hydradig 110W Wastemaster wheeled excavator for its in-house plastic recycling facility.

The Hydradig will transfer plastic from the drop off zone to the processing facility at the County Fermanagh site. The uPVC is then crushed and turned into chips which are used by RE-KKUR to manufacture a range of building products, including render beads used by plasterers.
The Hydradig was supplied by Dennison JCB and has a 4-wheel steer, 2-wheel steer and crab steer as standard and, with a turning radius of under four metres, the machine can operate safely in sites where space is confined.

Arnold Plant Hire fleet grows with JCB order
Arnold Plant Hire’s rental fleet for the waste and recycling sector has grown with an order of nearly 40 new JCB machines.

Gunn JCB will supply the company with JCB 560-80 Wastemaster Loadalls, JCB 541-70 Loadalls, JCB JS20MH wheeled material handlers and a JCB JS145 14-tonne tracked excavator.
Philip Oldham, managing director of Arnold Plant Hire, said: “With any JCB machine residual values are strong and the products are always in demand and therefore represent outstanding value.”

The new equipment means that Arnold Plant Hire – which operates from Stockport and Cannock – now owns over 600 machines that it can supply in the long or short term to a range of industries.
B&M invests in driver safety
B&M Waste Services has invested in driver and customer safety with the purchase of vehicles with new safety features.
The company’s newest addition is the B Generation Scania G Series with a Moffett truck mounted forklift, fitted with a Euro 6 engine, which ensures that carbon emissions are kept to a minimum.
The new truck has been bought in response to the new clean air zone regulations, which are being introduced in many major UK cities.
The new trucks also feature an alcohol testing machine, which requires drivers to provide a specimen of breath prior to driving – if the specimen comes back positive for alcohol, the vehicle will not start. B&M also ensure that all vehicles are equipped with additional cameras surrounding the vehicle, improving driver safety and reducing risk of pedestrian accidents.
