UK waste businesses William Tracey and Wastecycle are in the early stages of rebranding as ‘Enva’, following their acquisition by a private equity firm last year.
Scottish waste business William Tracey will be rebranding as Enva
The forthcoming rebranding follows the announcement earlier this week that Enva Group has also acquired organics recycling firm GP Green Recycling Limited for an undisclosed sum.
Based in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, GP Green Recycling reports to be one of Scotland’s largest recyclers of organic wastes.
DCC
The rebranding comes in the wake of the purchase in 2017 of the environmental division of Irish firm DCC plc – which included William Tracey, Wastecycle, Oakwood and Enva –by the private equity firm Exponent in a transaction worth up to £215 million.
The DCC environmental division was then rebranded as Enva Group but member companies maintained their brands across the UK and Ireland.
Enva Group companies include Wastecycle, William Tracey, Oakwood Fuels, Enva and Blue Sky Plastics Recycling
Earlier this year Enva Group announced the acquisition of Lincolnshire plastics and WEE recycler, Blue Sky Plastics Recycling.
Now, it has been confirmed that all companies are “coming together under one common brand”. The companies will be rebranding later this year.
One of the largest waste management companies in Scotland, William Tracey Group employs around 450 people across 8 sites in Scotland and 2 sites in the North of England.
Wastecycle operates waste management services across the East Midlands, handling close to 500,000 tonnes of materials per year.
Enva Group companies also include Oakwood Fuels, a Nottinghamshire provider of hazardous waste services to the automotive industry and the Irish hazardous waste firm Enva.

The latest acquisition will see GP Green Recycling integrated into Enva’s Scottish Industrial and Utilities division, which is let by managing director, Graeme McDonald. The founder of GP Green Recycling, Jim Gilchrist, will retire following the sale.
