A four-man team from Egbert Taylor Group took home the trophy at the Masters of Waste 2017 golf tournament at the illustrious Grove golf course in Hertfordshire last week.
With a score of 97 points, Taylor’s four man team of John Smith, Seb Little, Russell Hughes and Andrew Reidy secured the coveted green jackets.
[gallery_placement]They were followed closely by DHL, whose team of Ashley Smart, Chris Brown, Stewart Potts and Karl Tulip came runners-up with 94 points, and Blue Southern’s Trevor Kent, Rob Fluckiger, Martyn Yarde and Brian Maxwell finished third with an overall score of 93 points.
Waste and recycling professionals from across the industry took part in the event, held on March 30.
On the individual front, Allen Smith of CSH Environmental won the Best Male category, with an individual score of 45 points, and Amanda Cousens of BKP Group was crowned the Best Lady with a total of 26 points.
Prizes
Tim Ahern guest of Powerday won the nearest the pin challenge, with his shot on Hole 4 landing just 18 inches from the pin, whilst Phil Hall guest of Smart Solutions recorded the longest drive, with a 276 yard drive on Hole 9.
A total of 28 teams took part in the annual competition, organised by letsrecycle.com and supported by charity Child Bereavement UK, with £2,000 raised by the event being donated to the charity. Over seven years, more than £12,000 has been raised for the charity.
