Smurfit Kappa UK has appointed a former SCA Recycling director, Chris Collier, as its new managing director.
Mr Collier, who most recently had responsibility for Veolia’s local authority contracts in the East region, has more than 30 years’ experience in the waste and recycling industry, including 19 years at SCA Recycling, where he rose to the position of operations and commercial director.
He is seen as having specialist knowledge and experience of the recovered/waste paper sector and has worked with Nordic Recycling, CK Group and Andusia Recovered Fuels.
Commenting on the appointment, Leon Graff, managing director of Smurfit Kappa Recycling Benelux, said: “I am delighted that Chris has joined us as managing director of Smurfit Kappa Recycling UK. His many years of experience in the recycling business and acknowledged expertise as a business leader in the sector adds further strength to our team.”

Smurfit Kappa Recycling UK operates nationwide and has depots at Birmingham, Snodland, Tamworth, Nottingham, Blackburn, and Glasgow.

Chris Collier said that he is looking forward to getting started.
