Outsourcing waste management and recycling firm, Reconomy, has acquired national waste management broker, Waste Check Ltd.
And, following the acquisition, the Telford-based company is predicting revenues of £135 million by the end of 2018.
Waste Check
Based in Bromsgrove, Waste Check specialises in the compliant disposal of clinical and chemical waste materials for businesses operating across numerous business sectors, including healthcare, retail and care homes.
According to its website, Waste Check offers a range of waste solutions including waste management, waste consultancy, recycling services, skip and bin hire and collection services. The company says it can advise on all aspects of waste management, including the specialist areas of dry waste and hazardous waste.
One of the firm’s clients is European electrical manufacturer Vax. Waste Check says it provides a total waste management solution for multiple Vax stes.
This latest purchase by Reconomy follows the acquisition of Cory Environmental’s waste brokerage businesses in 2016 (see letsrecycle.com story), along with both Countrywide Waste Management Ltd (see letsrecycle.com story) and Network Waste in 2015 (see letsrecycle.com story).

Commenting on the acquisition, chief executive of Reconomy, Paul Cox, said: “This is an important acquisition for Reconomy, which enables us to extend our waste management offering into a broader range of industries and commercial sectors.
“We will continue to expand our business portfolio and invest in the companies we acquire to enhance both their technological and waste reporting capabilities. This will help ensure our customers receive the best possible service.
