Outsourcing waste management and recycling services firm Reconomy, has announced the business acquisition of resource management consultancy, Helistrat.
And, by continuing to follow a path of acquisition and organic business growth, the Telford-based company is forecasting revenues of £165 million by the end of 2018.
Helistrat
Based in Portsmouth, with offices in Glasgow, Helistrat specialises in the delivery of waste management and resources strategies to clients operating across numerous business sectors.
According to Reconomy, the Helistrat business aligns closely with its own strategy of prioritising tech-enablement to deliver more detailed waste data to clients, faster turnaround of information and improved accuracies relating to service fulfilment.
Acquisitions
This latest announcement for Reconomy follows its acquisition of waste brokerage business, Waste Check, earlier this year.
Other recent acquisitions for the company include Cory Environmental’s waste brokerage businesses in 2016 (see letsrecycle.com story), along with both Countrywide Waste Management Ltd (see letsrecycle.com story) and Network Waste in 2015 (see letsrecycle.com story).
Commenting on the acquisition, chief executive of Reconomy, Paul Cox, said: “We are very pleased to be able to announce this latest acquisition by the Reconomy group of companies. This is an important step for Reconomy, enabling us to extend our sustainability and waste management offering into a broader range of clients and commercial sectors.”
“Everyone at Helistrat shares our vision of bringing about change to the waste industry by introducing new technologies that will make the process of dealing with waste far easier and more transparent for our clients.”
Reconomy
Despite operating in sectors facing “some of the toughest economic conditions”, Reconomy said it remains on course to achieve its next objective of reaching £200 million turnover by 2020.
The company reports to work with a range of UK businesses – from SMEs through to large blue chip companies – helping them to manage their waste in a responsible, sustainable and cost-effective way. Its clients include Mears Group, Balfour Beatty, Morgan Sindall, CBRE, INTU, and Youth Hostel Association.
