Powerday triumphs at Masters of Waste 2019

A four-man team from Powerday took home the trophy at the Masters of Waste 2019 golf tournament in association with Tegos Group at the illustrious The Buckinghamshire golf course in Uxbridge last week.

With a score of 106 points, Powerday’s four-man team – Bradley Collins, Sam Youngs, Richard O’Keefe and Ed Crossan – secured the titled of the 2019 Masters of Waste Champions.

They were followed closely by UKCM, whose team of Mark Roberts, Neil Robinson, Andrew Malone and Gary McKinnon came runners-up with 104 points, and CSH Environmental’s Mark Slade, Paul Gregory, Brett Ridgers and Tim Day l finished third with an overall score of 99 points.

Waste and recycling professionals from across the industry took part in the event, held on March 28.

On the individual front, Brett Ridgers won the Best Male category, with an individual score of 46, and Mandy Larner took home the Best Female category.

Prizes

Danny Coulston from Lakeside Energy from Waste picked up the ‘Nearest the Pin’ which was also sponsored by Grundon, whilst Simon Potter of DHL won the ‘Nearest the Pin in Two Challenge’ Sponsored by McGrath Group and Ben Clarke from UKCM scored the ‘Nearest the Pin in Three’ sponsored by Iveco Retail. A record number of 15 individuals ‘Beat the Pro’ sponsored by Tegos Group, however, Pat McGrath, guest of McGrath Group, was picked at random and took home the prize.

A total of 25 teams took part in the annual competition, organised by letsrecycle.com and supported by charity Child Bereavement UK, with just over £1,500 raised by the event being donated to the charity.
