A refuse collection worker employed by FCC Environment on its contract with Herefordshire council will not be reinstated, after he was dismissed for kicking a snowman.
This comes after a petition launched to rehire Callum Woodhouse, 19, has so far received almost 10,000 signatures.
Mr Woodhouse was fired after the below video of him kicking a snowman, which later went viral, was given to the council by a resident.
The petition claims: “The guy worked throughout the whole pandemic, risking his own wellbeing and that’s what he gets?! And for what, a pile of snow.. grow up and give the man his job back! Might be you next, if you step in a puddle that might be that snowman’s passed cousin and you’re sacked! No income in times like this, shame on you!”
Letsrecycle.com approached FCC Environment for a comment and a spokesperson said that the matter had been “concluded”.

The council said in response that it is “aware of this incident and disappointed that an individual representing the council would behave in such a manner”.
The council added that the employee “was a member of agency staff working on behalf of one of the council’s contractors, and he has been informed that he will not be used again”. It added that information has also been “circulated to all agency employees outlining the professional standards they are expected to uphold when representing a Herefordshire Council contractor”.
Mr Woodhouse later gave an interview to national broadcasters saying he is due to be a dad shortly, which sparked many people to sign the petition.
