The local authorities in with a shot at this year’s Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee (LARAC) 2017 Celebrations Awards have been announced, as this year’s finalists are unveiled.
The annual event, which is now in its ninth year, recognises the achievements and hard work of local authority recycling officers and their colleagues over the past 12 months.
With a total of six categories, ranging from Best Communication Campaign of the Year, to LARAC Recycling Champion, local authorities have the chance to come together to celebrate and share ideas and innovations.
Councils
Officers from East Ayrshire council, Staffordshire Waste Partnership and Rochdale council have been shortlisted for the individual prize, while organisations among the finalists for best new idea, include Bolton council, North West Cambridge, the Surrey Waste Partnership and the Welsh Local Government Association.
The winners will be announced at a presentation dinner at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham on the
evening of October 11 – following the first day of the annual LARAC conference.
