Fresh Waste Services has opened a new recycling facility using sorting and other equipment supplied by Kiverco at a site at Hilton Square in Swinton, Manchester.
The facility at opened in March just a few weeks before the UK went into lockdown and the company said that its availability meant it could help local authorities sort extra waste volumes during the coronavirus pandemic.
Kiverco said that the new facility has “allowed the business to recover new commodities – all of which have a resale value.”
Fresh Waste Services, a family-run business based in Manchester, said it has created additional revenue streams amid the Covid-19 crisis. And, it created a new business line for the company as well as “helping local authorities overcome challenges as a result of COVID-19 lockdown”, including recycling domestic waste for Wigan County Council.
The company added that the recycling plant was a “sizeable investment” to reprocess
materials and for waste-to-energy operations.

Fresh Start Waste Services said it partnered with Kiverco to come up with a solution that would allow the recovery of more incoming waste, and create a “better working environment and help the company create new revenue streams and reduce costs”.

The new plant has allowed the business to process and recycle more commodities and has also given us the opportunity to expand our business and offer residential skips direct to the public.”
