An investigation is underway into the death of a man at FDS Waste Services in Mannings Heath Road in Poole yesterday (13 December).
Dorset Police was called to the scene at 11.30am to reports of an “industrial incident”.
The Police said: “It was reported that a man aged in his 30s had sustained serious injuries. The ambulance service also attended and the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”
The South Western Ambulance Service confirmed it sent an ambulance, an air ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and an operations officer to the incident.
Investigation
A joint investigation into the incident is being carried out by the Police with the Health and Safety Executive.
The man’s next of kin have been informed and the coroner has been notified, the Police said.
HSE has confirmed its involvement in the investigation. A HSE spokesperson said: “HSE is aware of the incident and working with the police who have primacy.”
FDS
FDS Waste Services Ltd offers a range of services including roro hire, trade waste management, and skip hire. The company has a three acre site, including an office and transfer station, in Poole.
When contacted by letsrecycle.com, FDS Waste Services declined to comment.
