Fire crews remain at the scene of a blaze at a Northamptonshire recycling depot which began on Friday (July 5).
The fire began at Cawleys waste transfer and recycling depot on the Finedon Road Industrial Estate in Wellingborough shortly before 2.30pm, according to the local fire service.

No-one was injured and the fire is now under control. However the incident did result in the closure of the East Midlands train line which runs alongside the site between Kettering and Bedford. Train services are no longer disrupted.
The cause of the fire is still unknown. Cawleys said the fire was contained to a baling shed, where materials which had been prepared for recycling were stored. The company will be launching an investigation into the cause of the fire.
A spokesperson added: “Emergency procedures were followed and no one was hurt, and the fire will not affect customers of the business in any way.
“Depots at Luton and Milton Keynes will be used for waste transfer and processing, and customers waste collection will continue as usual.”

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that two fire appliances from Kettering and Corby stations were present at the facility and were working with Cawleys employees to cool embers from the fire. At the height of the blaze around 35 firefighters were in attendance.
“Firefighters are today damping down at the scene of a fire which took place in Wellingborough on Friday,” said a spokesperson for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Wellingborough borough council said on their website that they were aware of the fire but did not believe there was a risk to health. They advised residents to keep their doors and windows closed.
