Luxus Invests in £1.5m compounding line

Plastic manufacturing and recycling company Luxus has installed a new £1.5m compounding line at its manufacturing facility based in Louth, Lincolnshire.

Luxus has invested 1.5 million in a compounding line at its site in Lincolnshire

The company says its latest investment supports its continued growth strategy, increasing its overall production capacity by 22%

The new line will be responsible for the manufacture of more than 45,000 tonnes of highly engineered thermoplastic compounds annually to both domestic and global markets.

Peter Atterby, managing director, Luxus, comments: “We are committed to producing high performance, yet sustainable compounds able to meet the demanding service and long-life requirements of rapidly growing sectors including, returnable transit packaging and civil engineering.”

Hiab launches upgraded crane

Swedish equipment manufacturing company Hiab has launched its “upgraded” JONSERED recycling crane range for heavy-duty recycling.

Hiab has launched an upgraded JONSERED recycling crane range for heavy-duty recycling

The company says this comes as part of its long-term plan to “expand its expertise” in the waste management industry.

The recycling crane range consists of six crane models within capacity range of 10 to 16-metres.

It can be combined with the MULTILIFT hook lift into one remote-controlled unit for ease and efficient material handling operation.

Hans Ekman, vice president of the company, said: “Working in the waste and recycling industry means taking on a lot of responsibilities. Therefore, we put a lot of emphasis on developing a crane range that can endure heavy intense load cycles, long work hours with continuous operation and that can answer to our customers’ needs for high performance.”

UNTHA shredder for Eco Sustainable Solutions

Organics recycling company Eco Sustainable Solutions has purchased a new UNTHA shredder capable of processing grade C wood to produce a P63 specification biomass fuel in a single step.

Eco Sustainable Solutions has invested in a mobile UNTHA XR3000C to process wood waste

The Christchurch-based firm says the mobile UNTHA XR3000C unit with 2 x 132kw drives can process grade C wood waste at a rate of 25tph, or a pre-break output at 40tph.

With a hard-faced rotor, quick-change screen, wide sweep ram and specialist biomass cutting system, the machine will also achieve a low wear rate to minimise whole life costs.

Eco Sustainable Solutions’ operations director Justin Dampney explained: “Because we can self-power the machine using our own electricity generation, we are further closing the loop of our waste to energy business operations.

“But the story doesn’t end there. We’re currently exporting our biomass product, but it will soon be used as fuel within a large scale domestic green energy plant.

Ash Waste looks to ‘transform’ fleet management

Wrexham-based Ash Waste Services has said it has updated its online software to standardise its fleet maintenance and compliance processes, with a view to expanding.

Ash Waste Services has updated its online software to “transform” its fleet management processes

Ash Waste Services says it has adopted the r2c Online software, which will provide the company  with a range of digital tools to transform their current fleet management processes, including work scheduling and authorisation, full defect management, real-time job updates and invoicing.

Phil Mottershead, the company’s compliance manager said: “Ash Waste is growing quickly and we’re opening several new depots at the moment, so being able to centralise all of our processes and documentation through one platform will be invaluable.

“It’ll then be even more useful to digitally manage our fleet and repair network, as our main transport office in Wrexham can manage vehicles remotely.”
