The team, consisting of Ashley Smart, Simon Potter, Chris Adam and Chris Brown , came three points ahead of Blue Southern in second, who had 106 points. Warwick Ward finished third with 92 points.

In other years, a score of 92 would have been enough to take the crown.

The industry’s premier golf tournament sees golfers compete for the team and individual trophies over 18 holes, and was held at the Oxfordshire Golf Club in Thame in glorious spring sunshine.

The event was organised by letsrecycle.com and partnered by the Tegos group. Child Bereavement UK was the supported charity.

Other teams to have competed this year include Smart Solutions, who have won the previous two tournaments and AO.com, who came fourth with a score of 91.

Dawn Campkin of CHC Waste won the best female player award, slightly edging Dawn Roads of the Oil Recycling Association.
