The fire originated in a two story building on the farm, where dark clouds of smoke could reportedly be seen by residents for miles around.
Dumfries Police asked members of the public to stay away from the area in order not to interfere with the efforts of the emergency services.
The family who owns the business also live on the site, nearby to where the fire originated.
