The European Commission director general for end of life vehicles and batteries will headline the CARS conference, which takes place on the 11 & 12 of July 2018 at the NAEC, in Stoneleigh.
Artemis Hatzi-Hull, who has more than 20 years’ experience at the European Commission, will be joined by contributors from Dutch dismantler, ARN and US operator, Counselman Autos. They will explore the future of the dismantling industry across the globe.
Other key sessions include presentations from the Office for Low Emission Vehicles, the Department for International Trade and discussion on lithium ion batteries.
The Environment Agency and the London Metal Exchange will open the MRE theatre, exploring the future of regulation within the UK and the global metals commodity market.
Dedicated trade event
CARS — Complete Auto Recycling Show — is a dedicated trade event for the end of life vehicles sector.
In addition to the indoor and outdoor exhibitions, visitors to the July show will witness a range of equipment processing material in its intended environment.
Exhibitors include JCB, Blue Fuchs, Arjes, JMC, Butti Sweepers & Hammel and will feature primary shredders, material handlers, forklift trucks with attachments and a shear baler.
Meet the buyer
Opening for three hours on day two, the Meet the Buyer Lounge is an opportunity for sellers to meet with buyers and improve their network of contacts. Exhibiting companies includes; Liberty Steel, Ward Recycling, S Norton & co as well as ELG Haniel.
Across the two days, there are a range of other extra-curricular activities which include a subsidised tour of Jaguar Land Rover’s state of the art manufacturing facility, 4X4 driving experiences, falconry and the local British Motor Museum.
Summer party
On the evening of the 11th of July there is the opportunity to relax and network at an outdoor party, with the World Cup semi-finals shown on the big screen.
There will also be a BBQ, local ale and a range of other games.
