The eagerly anticipated CARS and MRE trade show has kicked off today at Stoneleigh’s NAEC, near Coventry, with a limited number of free tickets still available for tomorrow.

The Metals Recycling Event (MRE) and Complete Auto Recycling Show (CARS) is the leading event in Europe dedicated to vehicle and metal recyclers.

On the first of its two days, the event has attracted crowds from across the metals recycling sector. The event organisers were “really pleased” with the good turnout.

Speakers

Delegates were treated to a variety of live demonstrations, as well as a host of informative and engaging talks from industry experts.

Speakers on day one included Artemis Hatzi Hull, DG Environment for end of life vehicles and batteries at the EU Commission, with a focus on the future of the ELV directive in an ever-changing European market.

Tomorrow, attendees can look forward to sessions on dismantling, low emissions vehicles, and critical materials in the CARS theatre. While on the MRE side, talks will cover wider topics, including Brexit, international trade and exports, and also metal theft and illegal operators.

Registration

Event organiser Ali McQueen reminded visitors that it is preferable to register free before the event as there is a £15 surcharge for registering on the day.
