The shortlist of finalists for the 2020 Awards for Excellence in Recycling and Waste Management has been revealed.
Now in their 17th year, the Awards, which are organised by letsrecycle.com, recognise innovation, dedication and success within the waste and recycling industries, local authorities and the wider sector.
You can see the full shortlist at the bottom of the article.
The Awards are judged by an expert panel including Steve Eminton, editor of letsrecycle.com, Jacob Hayler from the Environmental Services Association, Julia Turner from the Wood Recyclers’ Association, Robbie Warden from The Resource Association and Carole Taylor from LARAC.
Mr Eminton said: “Congratulations to all those who have been selected as finalists for this year’s awards and commiserations to those who didn’t make the shortlist. As ever the judges saw a very high standard across the whole sector in all its difference activities and approaches, from individuals through to teams and partnerships. ”
The winners will be announced at a virtual ceremony on 6 November 2020. The immersive virtual event will mimic the format of a traditional awards ceremony, with networking tables and live announcements of category winners.
Pandemic
Last year’s event, attended by more than 400 people, was hosted by MasterChef star Gregg Wallace.
Further categories have been added to this year’s Awards to celebrate the exceptional work undertaken by the sector during the pandemic (see letsrecycle.com story). The shortlist for the ‘response to the coronavirus pandemic’ categories will be announced later this week.
The shortlist of finalists includes businesses, community initiatives and local authorities and is shown in full below.
