UKWSL announces new corporate development head
Waste management outsourcing specialist UK Waste Solutions – UKWSL – has announced the appointment of Tony McPartland to head up its corporate development team.
Mr McPartland joins the waste broker from Cawleys, where he spent three years working across their corporate accounts.
Prior to this, he was at Suez for four years, working with customers in the London, Essex and Kent regions.
In his new role with UKWSL, Mr McPartland is responsible for developing relationships with the company’s blue-chip client base across the retail, FM and property management sectors. The existing team of Corporate Development Managers will now also report in to Mr McPartland.
Commenting on the move, he said: “I bring some significant experience to UKWSL from my years within the self-delivery model of the waste industry. My in-depth knowledge of key sectors will therefore be used to drive UKWSL forward into the future, whilst at the same time ensuring our clients are realising the commercial and environmental opportunities resulting from the government’s waste and resource strategy.”
Total Recycling Services appoints sales executive
Darlington-based recycling provider Total Recycling Services has appointed a sales executive to help reach its target of doubling turnover within the next three years.
Lewis Southall, has joined the team as an area sales manager after a successful career within the industrial services sector.
Total Recycling Services is based in Darlington and uses its skills and expertise in hazardous waste removals for clients such as JCB, Akzo Nobel, Nissan and Caterpillar.
Lewis, who previously worked with World Services Group and CIS Northern, said: “When I first came to Total Recycling Services I was immediately impressed with the company. It’s innovative and has invested well in future growth.
“My main focus will be on the industrial services side of Total Recycling Services, which has already seen large growth in the last 18 months. I’ll also be looking to bring in more waste contracts.”
Sue Woodward, commercial director at Total, added: “Lewis brings with him a great commitment and pride to his role, with a genuine consultative approach to sales.
“He has an extremely professional approach to customers and great account management skills which we’re enthusiastic to utilise.”
SFS expands procurement team
Contract hire and fleet management company, Specialist Fleet Services Ltd (SFS), has expanded its procurement team with the appointment of Darren Wade as Technical Specialist.
Mr Wade started his career as a mechanical engineering apprentice with Fraikin and spent 28 years working across every area of the business:

Mr Wade will be based at SFS’ Headquarters in Northampton, working on the pricing of new tenders and advising customers on the best vehicle, equipment and maintenance solutions.

Jim Wainwright joins Bakers Waste Services
Leicestershire based waste management firm Bakers Waste Services has announced the appointment of Jim Wainwright as operations director.
Mr Wainwright has over 28 years of experience in senior operations, depot and fleet roles gained in the waste and logistics industry, working for the likes of Veolia and Ward recycling.
Commenting on his appointment, he said: “I’m extremely excited to join Bakers Waste, this is a great opportunity for me personally and comes at a perfect time with the business outlining clear plans to continue growing.
