Colin Walsh joins Re-Gen board
Northern Ireland’s Re-Gen Waste Limited has announced the appointment of Colin Walsh to its board of directors.

Mr Walsh has been an active venture capital investor in the local manufacturing and high-tech sectors for over twenty years and is currently chairman of Acheson Holdings Limited. He also holds directorships at NiSoft Holdings Limited, Fusion Antibodies plc, Replify Limited and Belfast Power Limited.
Mr Walsh previously served as the CBI Chair for Northern Ireland and Chair of Andor Technology plc; he is also the trustee for NI on the UK board of Barnardo’s.
Managing Director of Re-Gen Waste Limited, Joseph Doherty said: “Having served on the boards of several local companies and been chairman of many others, Colin is an accomplished businessman and has first-hand experience of the various challenges facing the business sector within Northern Ireland.

Biogen appoints compliance director
Organic waste recycler business Biogen has appointed Kate Lister to the role of compliance director, joining the company’s Board with immediate effect.

Ms Lister has worked for Biogen for 12 years, following a period with the Environment Agency. In her new role, she will oversee all health, safety, environmental and quality standards within Biogen’s operations and will also liaise with regulators on strategic matters affecting the business.
Adam Feneley, managing director, Biogen, commented: “Over the last 12 years, Kate has done an excellent job leading the compliance and safety teams and has been instrumental in driving the compliance standards across the business.
“Over the coming years it will remain imperative that Biogen continue to drive compliance levels and I am confident that Kate will continue to lead this agenda superbly.”
Luxus brings in business development manager
Plastics compounder and recycler Luxus has appointed a new business development manager.
Alistair Barber has joined Luxus
Alistair Barber joined Luxus last month and is responsible for delivering sales growth in Europe and managing the company’s automotive clients.
He has previously worked as a key account manager for a Louth-based lighting company, and has also worked in the finance sector with a major UK high street bank before progressing to a mortgage advisor role based in Dubai.
Luxus managing director, Peter Atterby, said: “We are pleased to appoint Alistair Barber to this strategic role with his proven business development expertise, at a time when the automotive industry’s demand for high performance recycled content polymers to replace virgin grades has never been greater.
“For over 20 years Luxus has been at the very forefront of sustainable polymer development that has contributed to lowering the environmental impact of vehicles, while still delivering outstanding mechanical properties as manufacturers make the transition from a linear to a circular economy.”
Dennis Eagle appoints regional sales manager
Nicola Kane has been appointed as regional sales manager for RCV manufacturer Dennis Eagle.

As part of the role she will cover a territory stretching from Norfolk to Oxfordshire, down to Essex plus all of the London authorities north of the River Thames.
Ms Kane is taking over the territory from Bob Tottey who will retire at the end of April after almost 19 years’ service with Dennis Eagle. Her previous employment included a similar role at Johnston Sweepers since 2011.
Dennis Eagle’s sales and marketing director, Richard Taylor, said: “We obviously knew Bob was coming up for retirement and we gave ourselves plenty of time to find the right person to take over the reins.
“This is a very important region for us and many of the changes the waste and recycling industry is going to go through in the next few years will start right here. But Nicola has an excellent sales record, knowledge of the region, outstanding people skills and a proven aptitude in this market sector.”
Boardroom appointment at Renewi
International waste management company, Renewi plc has appointed Bas van Ginkel to the newly created role of strategy and business development director.

According to the company his work will focus on refining and executing Renewi’s ‘Focus and Grow’ strategy.
Mr van Ginkel originally joined Renewi in 2018. He has ‘extensive strategy leadership experience’, the company says, having previously held a global strategy director role at Philips Lighting.
Prior to that, he spent eight years at global strategic consultancy, Bain & Company. He has an MBA from Harvard Business School in the USA, plus a MSc in Business Administration and BSc in Economics from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.
Peter Dilnot, chief executive of Renewi, said: “This new appointment to the Executive Committee highlights the importance Renewi places on innovation, business development and accelerating the execution of our strategy.
“We have many growth opportunities in the emerging circular economy and Bas’s leadership will ensure we focus our portfolio and resources to maximise shareholder value. Bas brings a wealth of experience which will help in our journey to becoming the leading waste-to-product company.”
