Ecosurety moves Staniforth to head up policy side
Compliance specialist firm Ecosurety has appointed commercial manager Robbie Staniforth to a policy role, to work with the government and other bodies, as the UK prepares leave the EU in March 2019, as well as on a host of industry-related issues.

The company explained that the newly-created policy manager position responds to increased demand for information among producers, recyclers, as well as from the government, over issues such as exporting waste, single-use plastics and the circular economy.
Ecosurety said that the policy chief will be responsible for submitting Ecosurety responses to government consultations, as well as working with industry stakeholders to communicate the views of the organisation’s members.
Mr Staniforth commented: “Over the past six months, Ecosurety has seen a significant, and heartening, revival of interest in compliance regulation from the waste and recycling industry, but also from Government.
“The waste and recycling industry has gone from having to bash down doors, to being actively sought out for its views.
“Ecosurety is convinced the UK has the potential to radically change and improve the way resources are managed through extended producer responsibility, and ultimately maximise UK recycling. I am excited about the opportunity to pursue my passion for system change in this new role.”
Amey appoints Tyler to board
Amey has announced the appointment of Ian Tyler from January 2018 as non-executive chairman of the Amey board.

Mr Tyler currently sits on the board of four organisations including Bovis Homes and BAE systems and previously held the position of chief executive at Balfour Beatty. He replaces Sir Richard Mottram, who has served as Chairman since 2008.
Commenting on the appointment, Andy Milner, chief executive, said: “Ian is a very well qualified and experienced executive and non-executive, who brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm for the sectors in which we operate. On behalf of the Amey board, I would like to thank Sir Richard Mottram for his many years of commitment and service to Amey.”
Geminor announces corporate restructuring
Norwegian-owned waste fuels specialist, Geminor, has announced the restructuring of its corporate team as part of a strategy to support long-term growth ambitions in the European energy from waste market.

Ralf Schopwinkel has been promoted from business development director to chief operating officer, with a key responsibility to oversee the company’s country managers. Managing director Kjetil Vikingstad has taken the role of chief executive, while also taking responsibility for managing Norway’s day-to-day operations.
The company said the restructuring also recognises its ambitious growth in the Norwegian marketplace. A number of dedicated regional project managers have been appointed who will each operate within a defined territory to co-ordinate the import and export of waste materials.
Recycling Technologies appoints commercial operations director
Recycling Technologies, based in Swindon, has appointed Ravish Jain as commercial operations director and to the executive board.

Mr Jain’s promotion to the board comes as the company prepares to expand its operations and commence development work for its first commercial plant in 2018.
According to Recycling Technologies, Mr Jain brings to the executive board years of combined regulatory compliance and funding experience in the energy sector. In his new role, Mr Jain will be responsible for securing further investment and funding, overseeing all commercial contracts and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Before joining Recycling Technologies he was working for Reliance Power in India in a business development capacity.
