Andusia Recovered Fuels Limited has expanded its refuse derived fuel (RDF) shipping operation with the opening of a new terminal in Drammen, Norway.

In July 2016, Andusia agreed an exclusive contract with Drammen Port to send RDF to the port.
The company will be shipping an estimated 60,000 tonnes per annum through the facility, to be transferred on to the Andusia-supplied combined heat and power (CHP) plant in Oslo, Norway.
In June 2015, Andusia said it was “delighted to announce it has extended their agreement with the Energigjeninvenningsetaten (EGE) CHP Plant in Oslo for an additional 3 years.”

Drammen Port operators have said they are ‘delighted’ to be working with Andusia and glad to offer a new and sustainable method of shipping RDF to its final destination – the Oslo CHP plant.

Olav, sales manager from Drammen, said: “In Oslo, the plant receiving the RDF couldn’t accept deliveries in containers. We were therefore delighted we could offer a solution to Andusia.
“We offered a cross docking operation into walking floor trailers which enables a quick and speedy delivery to the plant.”
Andusia
Established in 2012, Andusia is now one of the UK’s largest independent exporters, collecting and delivering RDF from UK producers to the energy from waste plants in Europe.
Andusia has seen itself grow as a company, from breaking its 800,000 tonne barrier to increasing its staff numbers from eight to 12 people. As a result, office space at the company’s head office in Hertford, Hertfordshire has been expanded to accommodate the increased numbers.
