The entry deadline for letsrecycle.com’s ‘35 under 35’ awards, which recognises high-achieving under 35-year-olds from across the waste sector, has been extended to 12 March 2021.
The competition has been delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, but the winners will be crowned at a recognition ceremony to be held in London on 10 June.
Sponsored by Grundon Waste Management, the awards are open exclusively to those who work in the waste, recycling or organics industries and entries can be made by the nominee or by another on their behalf.
The awards recognise the rising stars in the sector and those striving for professional excellence, promoting industry innovation and giving back to their company or community.
To enter, those interested should submit 250 words and any supporting material here. To qualify, the nominee must be 34 or under on 31 December 2020. Applications are judged retrospectively on the previous year.
Awards
Each year 35 under-35-year-olds are acknowledged by the scheme, with three individuals gaining “top three 35 under 35 status”.
In the most recent awards, this special accolade went to Arthur Kay of Biobean, Matt Manning of Dixons Carphone, and Suez recycling and recovery UK’s Sarah Ottaway for achievements during 2019 (see letsrecycle.com story).
The 2019 winners were presented with certificates at a ceremony in London in January 2020. The full list of 35 under 35 status holders can be seen here.
The scheme provides a springboard for career progression, giving industry-wide recognition for professional competency while highlighting the passion and dedication of the industry’s ‘young guns’.
