Suffolk county council, FCC Environment and The Benjamin Foundation have announced that the re-use shop at the Foxhall household waste and recycling centre (HWRC) in Ipswich, will be reopening on June 15th.

Limited numbers of people will be allowed within the shop at a time and 2 metre social distancing will be maintained. A one-way system will also be in place, and payment by card will be encouraged.
Councillor Paul West, cabinet member for waste at Suffolk County Council, said: “We are delighted to be re-opening the re-use shop at Foxhall as part of our phased approach to bringing our recycling services back.
“By purchasing items from our re-use shop you are not only extending the life and use of the items instead of throwing them away, you are supporting local charities who undertake vital and critical work in the county of Suffolk.”
Social distancing
The Foxhall shop will be open 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and will implement social distancing measures.
The shop will not be accepting direct donations as items are subject to a period of quarantine prior to being sold in the shop. People visiting the shop will not be able to access the HWRC, which is by appointment only.
The re-use shops were closed in March following the lockdown announcement. Plans are also underway to re-open the shop at the Bury St Edmunds HWRC in the near future.
The Re-use shops at Foxhall and Bury St Edmunds are part of a partnership between Suffolk County Council, waste and recycling partner FCC Environment and charity partner The Benjamin Foundation.
