Metals recycling equipment manufacturer Lefort has offered a preview of its multi-product MTP 800 shredder, designed specifically for milling scrap metal prior to sorting and recycling.
The new machine was on display at an open-day at the company’s site in Gosselies in southern Belgium this month (October).
The machine features a rotor equipped with hammers for crushing material. According to Lefort the interchangeable high-strength steel hammer system ensures ‘exceptional output capacity standards and vastly reduced maintenance time’.
In a statement, the company said: “The low motor rotation speed ensures high torque to handle the toughest materials. The dust extraction units, vibrating tables and the waste sorting selection system are also tailored to customer needs.”
All Lefort’s shredders carry the CE European safety mark.
Ward
The preview of the new machinery comes after Lefort delivered a Portable 1000T Shear/Baler to Ward Recycling in Ilkeston in Derbyshire. The machine process over 200 tonnes of scrap per day.
Ward’s new machine is a variation on Lefort’s Conkeror 900 shear which and is fitted with four hydraulic lifting legs meaning that there are no tyres to check or lights to repair on the unit. The range features a 600 HP diesel engine which can achieve up to 30T per hour production with a 5ft cut.
The latest software programme means the machine is more efficient than ever with updated cutting modes and automatic cycles, Lefort claims.
Milestone
The company, which was founded in 1947 is gearing up to celebrate its 70th anniversary in 2017 and also recently displayed a range of its machines including its Conkest 300T non-ferrous metal shear/baler at the RWM exhibition in Birmingham last month.
In a statement, Lefort said: “Primarily designed for processing non- ferrous metals the 300T shear head will make light work of shearing all non-ferrous and some ferrous metals. The baling cycle is equally impressive for a small machine producing, compact, dense bales in most non ferrous metals.”
