Outsourcing specialist Reconomy has today (12 February) announced its latest acquisition, completing a deal for the north London-based waste management firm ACM Environmental.
Based in Waltham Abbey, ACM has more than 25 years’ experience in commercial waste management for a range of sectors including hotels, shopping centres and retail.
Reconomy’s acquisition of ACM comes after it bough four companies in 2019
On its website, ACM describes itself as a “full-service waste and recycling company”, which works with clients to find “inefficiencies and cost savings within their waste streams”.
Reconomy’s purchase of ACM, which won the coveted Waste World Cup tournament in 2011 (see letsrecycle.com story), was described as the next step in its “ambitious plan” and follows four similar acquisitions it made in the 2019 calendar year.
This includes the acquisition of Advances Waste Solutions in October (see letsrecycle.com story), and Prismm Ltd in April (see letsrecycle.com story).

The outsourcing firm explained that following this growth, the group’s combined revenue for the end of 2019 surpassed £330m on a pro-forma basis.
“The addition of ACM Environmental allows Reconomy to continue its strategy of providing the most comprehensive range of services and best customer experience across the commercial sectors,” the group said in a statement.
