Four industry experts have been confirmed as speakers for a waste crime session taking place at the upcoming Letsrecycle Live trade show in May.
The waste crime session, on day one of the conference (22 May), will see presentations from Sam Corp, head of regulation at the Environmental Services Association; Richard McIlwain, deputy chief executive, Keep Britain Tidy; Jennifer Watts, director at Watts Legal and chief executive of UROC; and, John Galvin, independent waste regulation specialist.
Three speakers have been confirmed for the waste crime session at Letsrecycle Live in May
Taking place at the keynote theatre, the session will focus on tackling waste crime in the sector, on the back of proposals to “rid the country of waste crime” announced by Defra in its Resources and Waste Strategy, published in December 2018.
Delegates are expected to gain an insight into the government’s approach to tackling waste crime. Proposals in the strategy include better intelligence sharing, tougher penalties, more awareness of the rules around waste movements and digital records (see letsrecycle.com story).

Letsrecycle Live is the two-day recycling and waste industry trade show organised by Environment Media Group. The event will take place at the NAEC Stoneleigh, Coventry from 22-23 May 2019.
The keynote theatre is sponsored by Suez Recycling and Recovery UK Ltd, with the waste crime session taking place from 14.00 – 15.00 on 22 May.
