London based construction and commercial waste management firm Powerday has announced that its Enfield Materials Recycling Facility is now open “around the clock”.
The company said that this means that clients using the north London facillity are now able to make waste deliveries throughout the night Monday to Friday, giving them “ultimate flexibility” and enabling them to maximise their vehicle routing.
Simon Little, sales and marketing director at Powerday, said: “This facility is a much needed and used resource in Enfield. Waste is collected round the clock to keep the borough and the surrounding areas working. Running our plant for this extra night shift not only provides a great service to our customers but also provides more jobs for the local community.”

Mr Little added that refuse derived fuel outputs are pre-contracted to a waste-to-energy facility in Sweden.
The 24 hour opening at Enfield mirrors the company’s services at its Old Oak Sidings site in west London.

Powerday opened the £10 million materials recycling facility in the Brimsdown area of Enfield near the end of 2015. The plant is permitted to process 330,000 tonnes of construction and commercial waste from the London area, producing high quality recycled materials and renewable fuels for the energy from waste market.
The company has two large MRFs, thought to be the largest in southern England, at Willesden Junction and Enfield. Combined, Powerday said that the MRFs are licensed to processes just under two million tonnes of waste each year. A spokesperson added: “The Willesden Junction site can receive and move out materials by canal, rail or road, making it one of the most flexible facilities in the country.”
