Recovered paper exporter ACN Europe (UK) has restructured its UK operation with the appointment of Tania Don and Steven Keir to two new roles in the business.
The appointments come as the Manchester-based company announced the departure of Steven Farncombe who was previously vice president of the UK operations.
The company is a major exporter of used cardboard and mixed paper from the UK and Ireland for use in its parent company Nine Dragons paper mills in China.
In a statement the company said they thanked Mr Farncombe for all his hard work and wished him well for the future.
Paper buying
Mrs Don will now head up the waste paper buying side in the role of senior marketing manager (paper) while Steven Keir will have the role of plastic buyer respectively.
The statement added: “Tania and Steven will help focus on continued growth and development in the UK. They will also be key to improve the support and service the company can provide their suppliers.
“Tania has joined ACN from Palm Recycling, where she worked for six years as commercial manager. Tania has extensive commercial experience in the industry and will lead the marketing team. Formerly of ACN’s quality control team, Steven Keir is a home grown talent who has moved into a commercial role to work with newly promoted plastics marketing manager, Henry Mott. “
Mr Keir, said ACN, will continue to live in Swindon where he will manage the company’s southern plastics supply base.
And, a further appointment sees Linda Pearson become senior operations manager “to develop operational strategy, improve business plans and work cross-organisationally to get the best possible results from our operations team.”
Commitment
Wade Schuetzeberg, executive managing director, European region at American Chung Nam, told letsrecycle.com: “These appointments reflect our long term commitment to the UK and also Europe. We have a tremendous growth story in terms of our business and the market is strong with increased demand from China.”
Nine Dragons stock value has been rising in value recently and the company remains a keen buyer of UK material, observed Mr Schuetzeberg. He also emphasised that ACN is a strong supporter of the need for quality material and is supporting the Recycling Association’s Quality First campaign.
“I would urge everyone to continue to strive for quality and then this will give them a competitive edge.”
