Jonathan Lea retires from WRAP
Jonathan Lea has retired as chief financial officer at WRAP after seven years with the charity organisation’s executive team.

Since joining in 2010, WRAP says Mr Lea has played a ‘pivotal’ role in helping the organisation’s strategic development as well as its transition to becoming a registered charity.
He is succeeded in the post by Gareth Prior, who is currently vice president of Strategy & Operations at John Wiley & Sons Inc and a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Mr Prior will be appointed as finance director at WRAP on 8 May this year.
Julie Hill, Chair, WRAP, said: “Jonathan has been an excellent CFO, going above and beyond the duties that were expected of him, showing exemplary leadership. He will be missed, but he leaves WRAP in excellent shape financially. I wish him the very best in his retirement.”
Mr Prior added: “It’s been my personal ambition to bring my commercial skills to a respected and ambitious not-for-profit organisation that delivers meaningful social benefit and real change. My move to WRAP is an excellent opportunity, and I am thrilled to be joining at such an exciting time”.
MBA Polymers appoints product development engineer
Worksop-based plastics recycling company, MBA Polymers, has strengthened its team with the appointment of polymer engineer Clint Bainbridge.
Mr Bainbridge, who joined the EMR-joint venture last month, will support the commercial team in a technical capacity and to help develop the company’s product portfolio of new polymer blends and grades.
Previously Mr Bainbridge was senior polymer technologist at REGAIN Polymers Limited, and has been involved in the waste industry for over 10 years.
He said: “I am excited to start a new challenge within MBA Polymers and look forward to working with the team to further develop its product suite. I hope my work here helps to further improve the quality of our products and continues to build the acceptance of recycled plastics as a true substitue for virgin materials.”
Paul Mayhew, general manager, added: “Clint’s wealth of experience and industry knowledge has already made him a key addition to the team. His appointment is a sign of our commitment to being a true innovator in our industry. I’m confident that he will play a key role in providing and implementing high quality solutions and support for our customers.”
Clarity Environmental makes waste to fuel appointment
Recycling compliance firm Clarity Environmental has appointed Paul Chapman as a specialist consultant to its waste to fuel division.

Mr Chapman, who has over 25 years’ experience in the waste sector, has previously worked with Impetus, FCC and Biffa.
He will help with the continued expansion of Clarity’s refuse derived-fuel (RDF) and solid recovered fuel (SRF) network, as well as its overseas energy recovery connections.
Mr Chapman said: “I am delighted to be working with Clarity Environmental, a forward thinking business that offers a quality service via a knowledgeable and committed team.
“The waste to fuel sector has grown over the past few years, initially due to UK exports of RDF and SRF to the continent. Now, the UK is developing several large and medium scale EfW facilities, with their network of suppliers, the team at Clarity Environmental are well placed to procure inputs into these new facilities.”
Clarity confirms that Mr Chapman’s appointment reflects the growth in its energy from waste sector, assisting its customers in converting waste to fuel for use in domestic and continental EfW plants.
Clarity Environmental managing director, David Adams, added: “”I have known Paul for many years, and I am sure that his immense technical knowledge, industry experience and contacts will be of great assistance to our team, enabling us to grow even further in 2017.”
