VIDEO REPORT: The chief executive of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM), Dr Colin Church, has outlined his view on the priorities for the waste and recycling sector ahead of negotiations for the UK’s exit from the European Union.
Dr Church spoke to letsrecycle.com in the wake of Prime Minister Theresa May’s speech outlining the UK’s ‘objectives’ for negotiations, discussing the need for ‘policy certainty’ and direction from government on issues relating to waste and recycling.
In the interview, Dr Church, who took over at the helm of CIWM in November 2016, also touched on ongoing negotiations over the EU’s Circular Economy package, as well as Defra’s anticipated 25-year environmental plan.
